	Salsify
	The arrival of spring in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies is marked by the burst of colors from meadow wildflowers. Although it will still be months before any plants bloom in the higher alpine zones, the foothills come alive in the warming days of May. Wildflowers, such as these Salsify, are a welcome sight to hikers out testing their leg muscles after a long winter indoors.
