It
was early fall and I had decided to hike up to Andrews Glacier in Rocky
Mountain National Park. I started up the trail in the pre-dawn darkness
but by the time I reached The Loch, one of the many glacial lakes in the
area, the sun had begun to rise. At the western edge of the lake I came
across a break in the forest that provided me with this magnificent view
to the east. The sun itself was hidden behind a low bank of clouds but its
diffuse glow was enough to highlight the subtle ripples on the lake's otherwise
mirror-smooth surface. |
