Niwot Ridge | ||||||||||
The east-west running Niwot Ridge is typical of ridges separating mountain valleys in the northern Front Range of the Rockies. Glaciers flowed from these valleys into the lands below as late as 12,000 years ago. Eventually succumbing to climatic changes, these glaciers left behind steep, rocky ridges and boulder-strewn slopes. | ||||||||||
