It
is difficult to describe my feelings as I snowshoe out of the forest at
the edge of treeline and onto the snow-covered slopes above. The first thing
to strike me is the intense sunshine coming down through the cloudless sky
and reflecting back up from the snow beneath my feet and into my squinting
eyes. Only then do I take notice of the biting wind pouring down from the
surrounding ridgelines and causing me to shiver. But my final and most intense
feeling is the one that sinks in as I realize just how fortunate I am to
be part of such an exquisite world. |
